Please ensure you are using the car charger included in the package to power the dash cam. If you are using a hardwire kit, make sure it is a FOCUWAY brand hardwire kit, as other brands may not be compatible. If your power source is a USB port, ensure you use a Type-C cable that supports charging only (no data transfer) and that the USB output is 5V1.5A or 5V2A.

There are three main issues that can cause the dash cam not to turn on:

1.Power Supply Circuit (Car Charger/Car Cigarette Lighter Socket/Hardwire Kit) Issues

Check if the power indicator light on the car charger is on. If it's not, try plugging the car charger into another car. If the power indicator light still doesn’t turn on, please contact us to get a replacement car charger (email: support@focuway.com). If the car charger works in another car, have your car's cigarette lighter socket inspected.

If you are using the FOCUWAY hardwire kit and the dash cam stops turning on after a while, check all the cable connections of the hardwire kit for any loose or disconnected wires. If the dash cam does not turn on after installing the step-down converter, please refer to the issue "Dash Cam Does Not Turn On After Installing the Step-Down Converter."

2.Dash Cam Unit Issues

Use a phone charger with at least 5V/2A output to power the dash cam and see if it turns on. If it does not turn on, the dash cam unit might be faulty. Please contact us at email: support@focuway.com.

3.Memory Card Issues(Typically, the power indicator light on the dash cam unit will be on, but the screen will not light up)

Remove the memory card. Then, press and hold the power button to turn on the dash cam.
